Dr
Bahador Fani was born in Isfahan, Iran, in 1980. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc.,
and Ph.D. degrees with honors in Electrical Engineering from Isfahan University
of Technology, Isfahan, Iran, in 2003, 2005, and 2009 respectively. Since 2005,
he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering at Najafabad branch,
Islamic Azad University, Iran, where he is currently an associate professor.
His current research interests include power system protection, sustainable
energy integration, control and protection of microgrids and smart grids, power
electronics interfaces for distributed generation, and power system dynamics. Dr
Fani has initiated Smart Microgrid Center, center for smart grid applications,
research, and technology at IAUN for promoting the smart grid cybersecurity
research, implementation, enhancing the resilience of wireless networked
communication and control systems in smart cities. He is also editorial board
of JIPET, Associate Editor for Frontiers in Smart Grid Electronics, and deputy
editor of TEEGES. Dr. Fani was selected as a candidate for the Eni award in
year 2019 due to his researches activity relate to very interesting topics. The
Eni Award is a prize awarded by the Italian oil and gas company Eni with the
aim of encouraging better use of energy sources and increased environmental
research. The strict award guidelines and the notable names on the selection
committee (including Nobel laureates) make Eni a coveted award.
